Your Replacement Window and Home Improvement Specialists
The only way to gain experience is by putting in the time, and at Long Life we have spent decades learning the valuable lessons that provide the knowledge we bring to each window and door replacement project. It starts with the very best tradesmen, providing them with every tool and installation product they need, ensuring they are trained, and that they have the opportunity to continue to learn the best window and door replacement techniques. Tradesmen like this only want to install the best windows and doors available, because they take pride in their work, so we have aligned our business with the best manufacturers, and they share our commitment to quality. The result is a culture that puts customer satisfaction at the very top of our priorities, which ensures that referral business will continue to be the primary driver our growth. At Long Life we decided long ago that we always want to do the best job we can…this knowledge drives all of our daily choices and makes for easy decisions.
Pat Alexander
Pat Alexander has been active in the home improvement industry for 30 years. He started as an estimator with a large western Canadian firm based in Edmonton, and worked his way up to General Manager before moving to the Lower Mainland. In 1989 he applied what he had learned and began Long Life Property Improvements with a long time colleague. From the beginning, Pat's philosophy has been to concentrate on utilizing the best trades-people, be very "hands-on", and stay small enough to deliver exceptional service. He believes that bigger is definitely not better, in an industry that is so dependant on the individual performance of trades-people.
Pat has been active in the Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada SAWDAC as a board member for many years. The National Window Wise Certification Program was developed by SAWDAC, and Pat is proud that Long Life was the first company in B C to offer the benefits of this program to their customers. He lives with his wife and two adult children, Kris and Katie, in North Vancouver. Both of these young adults spend time helping out in the business, and you may see them on job sites or in the office, wherever they're needed to pitch in.

Kris Alexander
Kris Alexander has been around the renovation industry since his early teen years, starting with trips to the office on “go to work days” with his Father. He has also gained a great deal of practical experience working as an installation crew helper for his summer employment over the last 5 years. This has allowed him to learn how windows are properly installed, and how involved this trade can be if the end result is going to stand the test of time. Hands-on learning has definitely added substantially to Kris’s more formal education, and taught him valuable lessons in the art of customer service.
A recent graduate of Trinity Western University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing designation, Kris is using what he has learned to better help customers and keep Long Life at the top of the industry. His ability to apply this knowledge, combined with his job site training, makes him a great asset to our growing business.
Kris lives in downtown Vancouver, but grew up in North Van. When he is not busy working, Kris enjoys Soccer, Golf and volunteer work.
